Out in the high desert west of Escalante, Utah — where homes are rare and coyotes are not — two tiny kittens somehow appeared. No one knows how they got there. They were far too young to travel on their own, but there they were: hiding among the boulders, drinking from water left for wildlife, and surviving off instinct, grit… and the occasional lizard.
That’s how their story could have ended — but it didn’t.
One day, they wandered close enough to a kind human’s home. Those humans noticed them, fed them, earned their trust, and finally brought them in. There were vet visits (a little scary), stitches (a little weird), and a quiet room where they learned how to play, how to cuddle, how to purr, and how to just be safe.
Now, at 4 months old, Sophie & Kelsie have left survival behind and stepped fully into kittenhood. They are playful, curious, affectionate, and hilarious. They zoom, wrestle, purr like crazy, and then curl up together like matching fuzzy commas.
They’re confident around other cats, curious about dogs, and totally litter-trained. And while their story began in the wild, they’re fully committed to indoor living now — because couches are awesome, and people hands give the best ear scritches.
🧡 These girls are a bonded pair and must be adopted together — they’ve been through too much to be separated now.
