Sweet Penny came from a household that was overwhelming and couldn’t meet her needs. There were lots of dogs, some fights, and very few people around. Penny has been at CCAW since March of 2023 and has made a lot of progress since her arrival. She used to cower in a corner, but now happily wags when we spend time with her outside. Although we’ve made tons of progress with her, she will need a home that will be patient in helping her learn that she is safe. She has so much desire to trust, but still needs a lot of reinforcement. Penny may do best in a home with another mellow dog who could teach her how to trust the people around her, or where she has a caretaker that can give her lots of intentional, structured time to get used to the new routines around her. She would do best if she had access to inside and outside spaces.
