Sweet Little Girl Looking for a Home
This young gal was roughing it on her own until she showed up at someone’s home asking for help. We’re not sure if she was lost or abandoned, but she was clearly tame and craving attention and food. She’s recovering from a recent spay and is looking for a home. She’s litter box trained. $20 adoption fee. If you’d like to meet her, call 435-491-2050.
Volunteers Needed
CCAW depends on our fine community to be a part of its success. We need you! If you love animals and have some time to spare, we will provide you with training and a rewarding volunteer experience. The greatest need we have is for fosters, cleaning and maintenance, and personal attention to our resident cats and dogs.

Brandy and Jackson Found their Forever Homes!
Sometimes it takes a really long time to find the perfect fit and forever homes for our dogs. Brandy and Jackson were both with us for many months, but the waiting paid off for them and they both found their perfect homes and humans. While saying goodbye is never easy, we couldn’t be happier for them and their new families 🐾
Give Wayne County
Our Give Wayne County on-line campaign will be April 1st thru April 10th this year. This annual event provides much needed funding for our Operations. We will be sending announcements of the event as we get closer. Please stay tuned.
New Facility Opening Soon
It’s so close, right around the corners! The first corner is Highway 24 and 1200 West in Torrey, Utah, and the second corner is April 1st, no joke! That’s the where and when for the public opening of CCAW’s Animal Care Facility as the first and only rescue and adoption site for dogs and cats in Wayne County. While we’ll still rely on our amazing foster families to acclimate adoptable pets to home life, the facility now provides temporary shelter, including isolation rooms for health safety and an exam room for our local vet, Dr. Jake Van Dyke, to visit animals on-site, thereby reducing the stress of the animals and in line with our Fear Free, animal-centered approach to the overall design.
The facility will also serve to board pets for a fee, both day and overnight. In this way, our animal-based mission as a non-profit organization is advanced by the support generated from an animal-based service that both tourists and locals have been clamoring for, especially since the national parks and most hotels don’t permits pets.
Although we had hoped to open last year, progress was delayed in fits and starts as supply-chain and labor issues permitted. But the building is now 99% done, and we’re just finishing up the exterior fencing and some last-minute adjustments. Crucial to the progress has been our facilities manager, Mel Perc, whom we hired last spring and who has tirelessly attended meetings, wrangled contractors, painted walls, envisioned solutions, assembled cat houses, and herded volunteers.
As we’re set to open the facility in just a few weeks, we recently posted two new job positions, one for a full-time assistant manager, and another part-time animal care support position. All signs point to another busy tourist season this year, which means more abandoned or lost animals brought to us, and more need for pet boarding.
Stay tuned for news of a grand opening celebration later this spring once our staff and volunteers get into the groove. Speaking of volunteers, if you’d like to help, please contact:
