Milada Copeland moved to Utah from Michigan in the mid-1980’s and fell in love with the state’s natural beauty and incredibly variable landscape. Milada has always been involved with animals, serving as a volunteer and a board member of Wasatch Humane (now Utah Animal Adoption Center) in the late 1990’s and working as a behavior-focused dog trainer at Willowcreek Pet Center until 2007. Over the years, she and her husband Bill French have fostered multiple dogs and cats; a few became “failed fosters” and spent a life time. In January 2021, Milada and Bill became part-time residents of Torrey, enjoying the natural beauty and association with wonderful friends on as many weekends as possible. Milada first joined the CCAW Development Committee as a volunteer, and is now very excited to participate with the wonderful group of CCAW board members and volunteers as the organization grows with the addition of a “first in Wayne County” small animal shelter building.
