Meow, hooray, and bark!
CCAW is excited to announce it has begun construction on its animal facility that will provide a no-kill shelter for dogs and cats and will also offer pet boarding and doggie daycare.
CCAW president Sarah Tal says of the groundbreaking, “This makes it real after four years of planning and fundraising. Amazingly, we’ve raised nearly all of the $1.1 million needed for the project from donors right here in Wayne County.” She says, “We’re down to the final $45,000 needed for fencing and furniture, and a few other things needed to open our doors next year.”
General contractor Paul Brown and Sons aims to have the building completed next spring. The 3500 square foot building will accommodate up to 13 dogs and 8 cats in boarding areas and is designed with a “fear-free” vision of its animal guests’ well beings in mind. The 12-acre site just west of Torrey on Highway 24 will offer walking paths, picnic sites, and stunning red rock views.
If you’d like to make a donation toward this last bit needed, any donation made between now and midnight Saturday, September 19th will be entered to win one of several door prizes. Click here to doante.
